Our Manager Catalin has worked in the hospitality industry for 13 years in various roles and in several European countries. As a result he has a thorough understanding of the industry and speaks fluent English and Romanian as well as converse in Italian and French. He is also a qualified Sommelier with a genuine passion for wine and has a family run vineyard in his native Romania.
In his free time he enjoys cooking and painting – most of the art for sale at Celebrus is Catalin’s work.
His personal motto is “Every day I realise I know a less” and his philosophy is to surround himself with positive people and to do whatever gives him the most happiness in life; The thing he enjoys most about working Front of House is making people happy.
Lee is one of the youngest members of the team at just 19 years old. He is a Darlington native who studied for his NVQ in Professional Cookery at Darlington College. He has worked at local favourites Truffle and the Bridgewater Arms. He came to work at Celebrus as he wanted to learn more about our style of cookery and develop as a chef. He has ambitions to travel to France, Italy and America and would like to be Head Chef of his own restaurant one day.
Gemma is David’s wife and co-owner of Celebrus. She has a diverse career history, working in several sectors including healthcare and business sales. Her passion for the food and hospitality industry has expanded exponentially since meeting David, and she has recently discovered an interest in food production and agriculture.
Gemma describes her role at Celebrus as General Dogsbody, which includes everything from doing our accounts to refurbishing the staffroom. Outside of work, Gemma enjoys being outdoors and reading.
